For what it’s worth I’m on summer #6 with my older child and I’m still his whole universe… maybe because he hasn’t started school yet?? Perhaps he needs to get a life?! But I love it!

"Perhaps he needs to get a life?!"

Hahahaha

If it helps, my son is 7 after the summer and he is still very much wanting a mummy summer. It all changes all the time, but in my experience a lot of things just get better (though I do miss the chunky feet.)

Thank you for linking to my post! And, last but not least, that Sezane dress is gorgeous

It helps ❤️ the funny thing is, I do know it gets even better! I am in my 30s and still LOVE spending time with my parents, and it’s a lot more fun that before

I am just being whiny for no good reason. Well, two good reasons — the feet!

I’m sorry to tell you the feet do not get better, haha

One year of motherhood is such a huge milestone. I was an absolute mess around the time that my little one turned one. Aaaaaall the feels.

This was really beautifully put and oh so relatable. I am in the midst of my first summer with my 7 month baby girl, and my fourth summer with my son. That second summer when my son was 1 was possibly the best summer of my life. Yes, I tried to take advantage of opportunities like taking him ti the Aquarium, the theme park on Centre Island, birthday parties, and cottages, and yes, those are memories I cherish, but the moments that stand out the most of that second summer together were the walks around our neighbourhood (pointing out flowers, fire trucks, animals and more), sitting in the park playing and people watching, and feeling his warmth while nursing him in the peace and quiet inside. It’s such a special time and no matter how you spend it, you will cherish it forever. Enjoy it in all its chaotic beauty!

You are right! We are going to cherish it forever. It’s this weird bit of human psyche that needs to over analyze everything and give in to nostalgia while living through it! So weird
